Valve's Team Fortress 2 broke the mold when it released while also paving the way for games like Apex Legends , Paladins , and even Overwatch. Modern fans may only know the aesthetic from internet memes, but the cartoon-y style endures to great effect. The game never feels too serious -- even if the player base can be a bit hardcore at times.

For those unfamiliar with the game setup, it's an arena first-person shooter and a sequel to a mod for Quake called what else? Team Fortress. The game's humor, characters, gameplay, and game modes all coalesced into a long-lasting and fantastic gaming experience.

Like those that came after it in the genre, TF2 has character classes that have their own abilities. Some are more focused on defense while others are about attack or even supporting others. But which Team Fortress 2 classes are the best? What's better than the unlimited power of fire, right? Well, for the Pyro class in TF2, firepower isn't the best, unfortunately.

This class lacks range and requires a very solid team comp to back him up. However, certain strategies can make them viable against a team full of Scout class opponents. One of the only characters with an unknown gender in TF2, Pyro's homemade flamethrower pairs with a fire axe and shotgun for massive offensive options. Whether or not Pyro's world is all butterflies and ice cream instead of the violence in TF2 remains unclear.
